LAGOA DE ALBUFEIRA

Lagoa de Albufeira is a Portuguese lagoon located in the municipality of Sesimbra, in the parish of Castelo. It is classified as a Ramsar site.
The lagoon is fed by fresh water from the Apostiça, Ferraria and Aiana streams, and by salt water from the Atlantic Ocean, when the dune cordon is officially opened in spring. It is made up of three lakes: the Grande, the small and the Estacada. Upon reaching a maximum depth of 15 meters, Lagoa de Albufeira is considered the deepest in Portugal.
Surrounded by pine trees along almost the entire perimeter, it has small sands along the sea and on the north bank. The calm waters and the wind create conditions for the practice of winsdurf, kitesurfing and sailing. Sought by countless families with children, traffic can be chaotic on weekends. On platforms in the middle of the lake there are mussel nurseries.
It integrates, since 1987, the National Ecological Reserve, being a special protection zone for birds. It has excellent conditions for sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing and canoeing. The beach is very popular for surfing and bodyboarding.

SEIXAL (PORTUGAL)

Seixal is a Portuguese city belonging to the district of Setúbal and the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon, with around 31,600 inhabitants.

It is the seat of the municipality of Seixal with an area of 95.50 km² and 158,269 inhabitants (2011), subdivided into 4 parishes (Amora; Corroios; Fernão Ferro; Seixal, Arrentela and Aldeia de Paio Pires).

The municipality is limited to the east by the municipality of Barreiro, to the south by Sesimbra, to the west by Almada and to the north by the Tagus estuary, through which it is connected to Lisbon.
The municipality of Seixal has a large branch of the Tagus, with the Corroios marsh to the west and the Judeu river to the east.

MOITA (PORTUGAL)

Moita is a Portuguese village belonging to the district of Setúbal and the Metropolitan Area of ​​Lisbon, with about 17,600 inhabitants.
It is the seat of the municipality of Moita with 55.26 km² of area and 66 029 inhabitants (2011), subdivided into 4 parishes (Alhos Vedros; Baixa da Banheira e Vale da Amoreira; Gaio-Rosário e Sarilhos Pequenos; Moita). 
The municipality is limited to the north, through the shallows of the Tagus estuary, by the main area of ​​the municipality of Montijo, to the northeast also by Montijo, to the southeast and south by Palmela and to the west by Barreiro.
The municipality of Moita, part of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, is located on the left bank of the Tagus Estuary, with a riverfront of more than 20 km. With the exception of Vale da Amoreira, all the other parishes (Alhos Vedros, Baixa da Bath, Gaio-Rosário, Moita and Sarilhos Pequenos) are in contact with the river.


The new centrality and accessibility brought about by the construction of the Vasco da Gama Bridge constitute an asset in the position of this municipality in the Setúbal region, namely for the enhancement of its natural resources and riverside area, constituting an attraction for the installation of new equipment, companies and residents. Thus, new opportunities for local and regional development are emerging, resulting from the City Council's efforts in urban and environmental requalification.










BARREIRO (PORTUGAL)

Barreiro is a Portuguese city in the district of Setúbal, with 63,363 inhabitants.
It is the seat of the municipality of Barreiro with an area of 36.39 km² and 78 764 inhabitants (2011), subdivided into 4 parishes (Alto do Seixalinho, Santo André and Verderena; Barreiro and Lavradio; Palhais and Coina; Santo António da Charneca.
The municipality is bordered on the east by the municipality of Moita, on the southeast by Palmela, on the south by Setúbal and Sesimbra, on the west by Seixal and on the north by the Tagus River and its estuary. On the other side is the city of Lisbon.
Barreiro, a former industrial city and now a dormitory in Lisbon, has a remarkable potential for development. There are grandiose projects to transform that region located on the Tagus River estuary into a superior housing site.

It should be noted that the city of Barreiro has a strategic position 6 km from the center of Lisbon. Bathed by the Tagus River and supported by an important road, rail and river terminal, it is 20 km away by land from the city of Lisbon (via Ponte 25 de Abril — 35 km by Ponte Vasco da Gama) and around 35 km from Setúbal, district capital (via the A2).



AZEITÃO (PORTUGAL)

Azeitão, is a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Setúbal, with an area of ​​69.32 km² and 21 022 inhabitants. Its population density is 303 inhabitants/km².

Azeitão is formed by the former parishes of Azeitão (São Lourenço and São Simão), better known as Vila Nogueira de Azeitão, Brejos de Azeitão, Vendas de Azeitão and Vila Fresca de Azeitão. They share the name "de Azeitão", due to the extensive olive groves that, in Arab times, dominated those parts.

In 2014, Azeitão cheese was considered one of the 50 best gastronomic products in the world, being distinguished by the Great Taste Awards, organized by the Guild of Fine Food (Ireland), known as the Gastronomy Oscars.
